Our Family: The four pictures on this page are of my immediate family. At the top is a photo of my father, William John Seefeldt, Sr. Who was born 20 Nov. 1902 and died 29 Jan 1969. His entire life was spent in and around Philadelphia, PA. His father was Charles M. Louis Seefeldt, Jr. and his mother Margaret Long. The undated photo is believed to have predated his marriage to my mother in 1925. The second photo is of my mother, red-haired Margaret E. Armbruster Seefeldt, and her only child, then three months and three weeks old. This photo was taken on 25 Apr. 1926 in the Bow Creek area of Lester, PA which adjoined Philadelphia and what is now the site of Philadelphia International Airport. My mother"s parents were Bartlett Armbruster, Jr. and Margaret Trodden, both of Philadelphia. Born 16 Feb. 1906, my mother died 24 Feb. 1982. The next photo is of our young family. The photo shows us with our children Bart and Carol at ages ten and eight, respectively. Bart is wearing his uniform from the Northern Virginia Patriots Marching Drum Corp. Bart is married to Sharon Sinkenbring. They have three children: Victoria, Kennedy, and Stephanie. Carol is Mrs. Peter Griffith. Their Children are: Alison, Matthew, Taylor, and Lindsay. The final photo is of my wife of more than forty years, Betty Jane Morales Seefeldt, and of myself. It was taken on 5 Dec. 1997 in the Country Inn at Berkeley Springs WV by our friend, Virginia Eilbert Kruhm. | ||

My interest in genealogy grew out of curiosity in the 1960s about the Civil War service of my mother's grandfather, Bartlett Armbruster Sr. His military and pension records provided information going back to his immigration to the United States from Germany in about 1844. The efforts of George Armbruster and other of my Armbruster "cousins" have traced the family back to Kappel am Rhein, Baden, Germany and led to discovery of the Dorfsippenbuch on which the Kappel web page is based. For fellow descendants of my great-grandfather, Bartlett ARMBRUSTER. Sr. (1843 - 1923), I have appended two family group pictures, identifying the individual members. One is of the complete family in 1888 . The second shows many of the same people, their spouses and children grouped about "the cannon from the Civil War," probably on the Fourth of July, in about 1914. The burial place of several these family members is Mount Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia. |
